As we countdown to the last day of school (June 16th), we can’t help but get excited about all the events and activities happening in Canton this summer! From hiking and canoeing to concerts and more, there are plenty of family-friendly activities to do in our area. Here are a few of our favorites!
Roaring Brook Nature Center

There’s no better way to explore the outdoors than taking a trip to the Roaring Brook Nature Center! This indoor/outdoor wildlife sanctuary is the perfect place to spend the day with the kids, especially if they love animals. Roaring Brook has over a few dozen different species of animals from snakes to turtles, to bunnies and frogs.

Matterhorn Mini Golf

Matterhorn is more than your typical mini-golf course. Matterhorn is a one-of-a-kind, award-winning Swiss-themed miniature golf course. Spend the afternoon playing mini-golf or learning about Swiss history, cheese, and chocolate. This colorful course is filled with fun facts and life-size realistic goats, cows, and dogs.
There’s nothing better than ice cream on a hot summer day. Matterhorn has a variety of Swiss swirled ice cream flavors available on-site and a spacious patio for you to sit back and relax. Music on Main

Music on Main is back for another season! Enjoy live music Thursday and Saturday nights on Main Street from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Bring blankets, chairs, and snacks as live musicians and bands take center stage! Everyone is welcome, even dogs!

Canton Parks & Rec Summer Concert Series
Enjoy live music at the Mills Pond Park every Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm throughout the summer. The Canton Lions Club will be on-site each week selling hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks, and beverages, so come hungry! Farmington River Trail

Make it adventurous this summer and explore the Farmington River Trail! This scenic trail runs along the river that goes right through Canton and Collinsville. It’s paved and makes for the perfect trail to walk, bike, skate, or run with the family.
Looking for something a little extra adventurous? Stop by Collinsville Canoe & Kayak located right by the Farmington River. Mills Pond Pool House

Cool down this summer with a visit to the Mills Pond Pool House! Sit back and relax while the kids swim, splash, and play under the supervision of a lifeguard. Mills Pond Pool is open daily from June 13-August 28. Learn more about admission, hours, and summer aquatics programs here.
