It’s officially spring here in Canton, Connecticut! While the last remnants of winter melt away, we’re looking forward to long, warm sunny days. We’re sharing a few activities you and your family can do this spring in Canton.
Activities for the Family
Maple Sugaring in Your Own Backyard- March 13 (snow date: March 20)
Roaring Brook Nature Center [add link] offers year-round educational activities for kids and families. This March, they’re having their annual demonstration where they teach visitors how to make maple syrup. This is a great activity for kids to learn about one of their favorite sweet condiments. Learn the entire process from identifying the right tree to tasting the final product (which some may say, is the best part).
Admission is $11 per person and $36 for a family of four. Classes are held at Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracy Road, Canton CT 06019. For more information and times, please visit their website.
Gallery on the Green Guest Exhibition- March 18 to April 16
Every year, Gallery on the Green hosts a “member/guest exhibition” where artists of Canton Artists’ Guild search for the best of the best to showcase during this exhibition. Many local artists showcase exciting and vibrant sculptures, drawings, paintings, photographs, and more. This exhibition is great for a relaxing weekend in town. If you work up an appetite during the exhibit, grab some coffee and treats down the road at Giv Coffee.
This exhibition is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs from Friday to Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Gallery on the Green. Located at 5 Canton Green Road, Canton, CT 06019.
Matterhorn Mini Golf- Opening Daily April 8
